4 Dedupe Tips for Resellers

  1. Data integrity is much more important on the storage devices holding deduped data than on a regular server, because the storage equipment will hold the only copy of your client’s data. So purchase quality products with redundant hard drives and power supplies.
  2. Prepare for growth, and purchase a solution that can be upgraded easily. Dedupe requires more overhead than traditional servers. Getting close to capacity will lead to data loss.
  3. Be knowledgeable. As with any storage server, have trained help in house or close by.
  4. Test the integrity of the data regularly.
